APPROACH
Market research
I conducted a segmentation survey and customer interviews to define our target audience, analyzed competitors for feature parity, and presented key insights to company leadership through a research-backed pitch deck.
Design & prototype
I visited various hotels in the US to assess their pain points with competitor experiences, industry standards, and Hopper (if already partnered). I conducted the same inquiries virtually with hotels abroad. Building these relationships allowed me to meet with them periodically for feedback on prototypes.
Build & QA
I collaborated with front-end and back-end engineers to translate design intent into scalable, high-quality implementations, aligning on both technical feasibility and interaction standards.
User testing
Led guided and unguided usability tests on prototypes, analyzing user behavior and feedback to make data-informed UX improvements.
Search for Homes
Users enter the search experience from the Hopper home screen. From there they can search by location, dates, and specify their guest count.

Browsing Homes
Users browse search results from a list or map view. They can filter their results to match their preferences, such as price, rooms and beds, and amenities.

Listing Details
From here users can assess every home’s images, ratings and reviews, room & bed count, cancellation and checkin policies, and a transparent price breakdown.

Checkout
After various iterations, we landed on a checkout summary that balances transparency with simplicity. A Hopper banner reminds users that they earn rewards with every booking.

Trip Summary
After a user books a home, they can easily access it from the Hopper app. Quick actions make trip modifications simple and easy.
